I am looking for a quality spark plug wire for my C3. I don't want something that I have to fabricate. Can anyone recommend a name brand, and maybe a part number?
I've got the stock GM wires (got 'em at the local Chevy dealer) on mine and I think they work great for a stock or street motor. I also have a stock distributor. They are not flashy but I like the look.
AC-Delco. The OEM stuff. 7mm wire will fit your existing looms. 8mm and bigger stuff will not fit the stock looms without a bit of rework on the looms.
:)
Eric, all you need to make the custom fit ones are a wire snip, a wire stripper, and something to crimp the metal end on with. Really only takes an extra 15 minutes or so, and looks really good! I have yet to find a pre-made set of plug wires that REALLY fits well.
know....I have been using the Accel 8mm universal wires. And they looked good! But I am just not happy with the quality. This is my second set, and they are starting to break down with the heat.
I hac accel and also not happy with quality. Boots became soft. Went with DUI Livewires. Covered entire length with heat protecting fiberglass cloth. 8mm. Numbered, both ends. Thick boots!
I'm using the Accel 8.8 wires with sheathing that protects them from the heat of the headers. I didn't have to cut them at all and they look really nice. They cost about $100 from Summit Racing.
