Default Qjet throttle linkage help

I have been rebuilding/cleaning my qjet. At some point I removed my throttle linkage. I took pictures so that I could get it back together, but it seems that they ALL came out fuzzy and I can hardly see anything. It seems like the bigger spring on the secondaries doesnt do anything, all it does is spin with the secondary shaft. I dont have any idea where the smaller spring on the inner side of the shaft goes. This is what I have so far

if only the other pictures came out that good =\

I remember the linkage being able to spring back, but any way I do it I get no spring back to closed.

Your inner spring isn't hooked up. The inner spring is the one that produces the spring-back. Take a look at another Q-Jet and hook up that inner spring.

I was doing that at around 11 last night so I must not have been thinking very well. Looking at it this morning, the big spring definately isnt for closing, more to move/connect the rod to the linkage. I still have no idea how the little one connects though.

And while im on about springs. I 100% destroyed the spring in the secondary choke flaps. Is there a spring I can just pick up to replace it or am I screwed?

you need to find an exact replacement for that spring. you can ask if anyone has a spare on the forum, or do an internet search for Rochester parts, or try the local parts gardens, etc., etc., . . . but might as well make a list of stuff before placing an order

You have to get the same spring out of a donor carb. It is important that you get the same model/series year as a donor carb for that spring.

Just out of curiosity... why did you remove these springs...? You don't ever remove this stuff for a cleanup and rebuild. Was there something wrong with these springs (airvalve and secondary linkage) that made you pull them out?

I'm sure I do. E-mail me with your carb number and what you need, along with your address and ph#.
