Default Dynamat / Fatmat installation tips needed

I have my interior gutted, all vacuumed out, wiped down with Prep Sol and I am going to use the cleaner detergent that is provided with the Fatmat kit.
My question is: are there any tricks that make fitment of this stuff any easier? I want it to come out as close to perfect as possible but, with all of the curves and dips in the floor, I was wondering what the best method would be to fit the pieces in the car.

Thanks,

Dave

C'mon, I know you guys have done this project before; nobody has any advice on how to get the fitment just right for the insulation?
I was thinking about getting some large sheets of poster board and making templates before I cut into the Fatmat, anyone use that method?

Its a mess no matter what you do. Make sure you have a heavy roller, thats my #1 tip. You need to smash the **** out of that stuff when putting it on.

I didnt cut templates, although that would have probably made it easier. The C3 interior is pretty simple. I covered all the flat parts i could then worked on the tunnel and other curved areas.

I used three bulk packs so I didn't have to sweat measuring every inch, worked front to back, and pretty much used the old eyeball to gauge placement. Obvious flat areas were easy, working around the tunnel and dash areas I used smaller easier to manage strips. Like Mike says, use that roller and mash out those bubbles.

#1 go buy a wooden seam roller at your local hardware store - stay away from the plastic ones

#2 once cut and laid down use a heat gun to warm it and then roll it down. makes the stuff super super sticky and form easier to the floor curves

#3 buy some aluminum duct seam seal tape on all the seams

#4 use a nice sharp razor to cut the product.
