My intentions with my 68 are to have a driver for the warm weekends. No intentions to be racing at the strip, etc. BUT, I want it exciting!
Looking at the Edlebrock top end kits they separate them between 0-5500 and 1500-6500 rpm.
The 1500-6500 produces much more HP. But I think it is at a range that I won't be driving in.
Can someone advise which series is more suited for my driving as stated above.
Also a little advise on whats important to note on those torque vs hp charts.
I won't be doing the engine for a while. But I have a lot to learn between now and then.
thanks!
I looked at these packages some time ago and they seemed good value....untill you realise that your engine probably wont be exactly the same as the test mule they ran it on to get those high numbers. Unless your configuration is exactly the same, you may well end up being dissapointed.
If you want a nice weekend driver with a littlle oomph to put a smile on your face, why dont you post what your car specs are at the mo, tranny rear end etc and the guys can chime in a give some advice.
I think 63Mako put a post up about a site comparing lots of different configurations all on one page...you could look and pick the combo that best suits you and you $$$$.
Good job stating what you want. At least C.I. & trans. should be stated.

The charts are based on 350 C.I. Assuming the 327, which will shift the rpm range up (a more realistic range of the RPM is 2500 up w/ 350) then so far it sounds like you are right, the Performer pkg. is better for you.
