Another Handling ???

Over the winter, I had GTR1999 build me a rear diff. (excellent job Gary!!!) I have recently installed and broke in the new diff and my steering feedback is gone!!!
When I removed the old diff form the car, I could not turn the yokes in opposite directions by hand. I never put any tools on them for leverage, but I tried, HARD, to turn them by hand and they won't budge. The car is new to me, so I'm not sure who has been inside it. Bubba could've "set it up", but I don't know what has been done in the past.
Could the old rear diff be so tight that it wasn't slipping in sweeping corners?? It used to feel like a 4x4 in 4 wheel drive on pavement. The front end used to hop, but now everything feels o.k. The old diff never hammered in tight corners, but that is the only thing I have done over the winter.
Whatever the case may be, Gary and a new set of 3.73's REALLY woke my 454 up!!!!

Bothers me, though, that you said it didn't hammer. Sounds as if it was acting more like a spool, and makes me wonder if Bubba may have welded up that old diff.

btw... nice ratio

DIP- your diff I rebuilt is not setup stock as the original one was. The posi springs were not used in my job.
With a stock posi the 4 springs are in constant tension on the side gears in the posi, they require 40-70 ft/lbs of force to break loose unless there are broken clutches in there.
With my setup there is no resistance from springs and the yokes can easily be turned against each other. You will have posi but you will not have the constant force on the clutches and they will slip in corners without hammering.
Here is a new Eaton with the springs

Here is one of mine
