Default Question about power door locks

I have a Keyless entry system that I am going to fit to my vette. I haven't checked yet but am I correct in thinking that it has a negative Trigger door lock system. Also where would you put the control box - in the door or under the dash , drivers door or passenger?
Anyone who has experience and can offer advise would be much appreciated
Thanks

I put my control box behind the passenger knee pad and ran the wiring from there. I picked this location because there is a lot of room, and I can run the antenna up the A-pillar for a good signal location for the remote.

Mine were five wire actuators, so I don't know if they might differ from your kit which is probably a two wire negative trigger as you mentioned.

Hey wild man!!!!

As far as I know your car is 5 wire. (reverse polarity) Your module may have two wire comming out for door locks. a unlock pulse and a lock pulse. These wire would be hooked up to a seperate module or a relay bank. Some module have door lock relays built into the module. You will see 6 wires in a harness for door locks.

Most corvettes that came from the factory with keyless are either + or - door locks

Mudule with door lock outputs

Module with built in relays

Make sure you cut the slave wires. Should be black and blue in passanger kick or behind glove box

Thanks for the info - just what I as looking for . I tried to find the thread on c3 general that we had going a while back but there is no sign of it. I have 5 wires coming out of the door lock switch .
I assume that the alarm is activated via the key in the lock - can I activate it from the Rlock when I lock/unlock remotely?
The whole idea of fitting this Rlock is to eliminate the need to use the key and so remove the risk of damage to the bodywork around the lock that was done before the new paint (area has been fixed now but don't want the same again) the locks seem quite stiff to turn and so cause the barrel to work loose over time.

I will have a go at it this weekend hopefully and will post more questions here if I have any.

Thanks for coming to the rescue - I was starting to think it was something I had said!!

You have reverse polarity

The factory alarm is armed two ways

1st if you lock the doors from the drivers or passangers door switch that will turn the alarm on.
2nd if you lock the drivers & passangers door manually that will turn the alarm on

When you add your keyless entry does it have an alarm in it. If so, you need to pulse ground or you may have to add a relay for a solid ground. The disarm wire in the drivers door (Green) or you can grab it at the module by the jack. The reason for this is your alarm system will disarm when you unlock the doors but you never told the factory alarm to disarm.

My daugter locked the car from her door switch. I turned on my alarm from my keyfob. When I returned I unlocked the doors, when I opened the drivers door the factory alarm went off.

Here is my remote

PM me and I will show how to hook up factory disarm
