Default Intake Oil???

Has anyone had small amounts 1/4 teaspoon or less or so of oil congrigate where the bolts go into the cylinder head from the intake manifold? I have this problem on #4 & #7. Does this possibly come up from the threads of the bolts? If so what type of gasket material to solve? This is with Edelbrook Aluminum Manifold.

As Bob says you can use a thread sealant. that will stop the oil from wicking up the bolts and pooling on the intake.

Whenever I put on my intakes I'm too lazy to grab another product so instead of using thread sealant I use the same Permatex RTV that I already have out from running a bead along the block front and rear rails so I use that instead. A dab on each bolt stops the oil same as thread sealant.

I use permatex #2 non-hardening...wonder if that is ok.

I have an original L-48 with 70k thats never had the intake off & it's been doing this for years......

Kind of a pain to keep clean but it doesn't leak that much.

Clean the bolts off and use teflon paste on them. That solved my leak problem.
