Default Aluminum Polish

Just thought I would survey what everyone is using. I have had decent luck with Blackmagic aluminum polish, but would be open to try other brands.

A mechanic suggested some 2000 grit sandpaper and a light lubing oil. Anyone ever tried this?

YEP...with great results. After sanding with progressivly higher grit, (started with 600 working up to 2000) I used white metal buffing compound. It took hours, but came out almost like chrome.

Good point. Sorry, yes, for wheel. My 79 wheels are a little hazed over.

Huh, I thought the sandpaper idea was crazy. How did it work?

Mothers works great!

Mothers also works great on tail light lens and other plastic surfaces including your instrument cluster lens.

I really like that "Eagle one" wadding with wax in it.
The more you rub, the blacker it gets and the brighter the aluminum gets. It makes Weld wheels look like chrome.
