Plan on the entire project taking longer than you expect. The "while you're at it" projects are worse than most other areas of the car. Might want to buy a new bulb kit and interior screw kit. They're cheap. It's nice to have all the right screws in the right areas. Also, more than likely you have a bulb or two out in your dash. Replace them all now so you don't have to go in again later.

I just redyed my interior and it looks great.
The important thing to remember is to get all parts squeaky clean.
I used some tide detergent and a brush that could really get all the gunk off because the dye dosent like armor all or other interior protectants. Then just before your paint use rubbing alcohol to get the parts absolutely clean.
You sould be very happy with the results.
What color is your interior? Semi-gloss black worked for me.

You will also want to put a heat barrier down before you install the carpet (unless you live in Nome,Alaska). Secondly, as you are removing panels, take note of the screw holes that are loose or damaged. You will want to fill the hole and redrill or put new speed nuts in before you reinstall the interior. Also decide what you want to do with the radio/sound system while you are at it. Check out and rebuild any A/C ducting, servo, or seal problems while you can get at them. It's a lot of work but it will be really satisfying when you get it done and everybody goes "WOW"! Oh, when you get it done, DON'T use a petroleum based protectant on the vinyl; use a liquid polymer sealer that dries completely. Your interior will stay like new (instead of deteriorating).

Have fun trying to find an acceptable carpet supplier too. I am on my second set and have not found one that I am completely satisfied with. First set came from Romeo Engineering; took more than 3 months to arrive and, when it showed up, it was the wrong color. Second set came from Al Knoch and I am not 100% satisfied with the cut of the pieces; at least the rear cargo section. I layed the Al Knoch piece on top of my original piece and they aren't even close.
I am searching for another supplier who can provide me with an exact duplicate of what was installed from the factory.

Word of advice: be patient!!! I am in the middle of this very same project and it is killing me. I want to be driving my car instead of farting around with carpet but, I have come too far to rush through it now.
