Default wiper trouble

ok guys, wipers won 't work. How do I know if my actuator is correct for my car? I read about early '69 etc. Lights ok, but very slow, I mean minutes slow. Wipers nothing. I put a vacuum gage on my wiper actuator, woulld not hold vacuum. where do I go from here? By th way this is a 1969 car. Where can I decode this car without giving up my unborn child?n

I just went through this whole thing with my '71. I beleive the accuators may be good if the HL doors open all the way, but it sounds like a vacuum leak in the system. It could also be very low vacuum from the intake. There are actually three different vacuum systems that are at work, the main vacuum system, the control system, and the vacuum acutator system. I just started from the manifold and worked my way down the line. When I got the car, the wipers didn't even work at all, now all is fine. Just take your time, and get a good diagram, fix all the leaks or loose connections, and trace it like an electrical problem.

Does the wiper door open but the wipers don't run, or does the wiper door not open?
