Just saw this in the new Chevy High Performance. Wilson Manifolds has a multipart, composite manifold for the small blocks. Might be something for our hardcore race folks.
Wow! It would be worth it for that alone if the rest of their claims are accurate. One word of caution though, I've seen a number of composite manifolds (usually some form of plastic) crack during normal use and I suspect it has to do with material expansion rates. Still nice stuff...

Hans
They usually crack from over tightening them. Wilson helped design the industry standard FAST intake for LSX motors. Wilson knows their way around composite manifolds.

I've read and heard nothing but praise about that LSX intake.
I get that a lot when I roadrace my BOSS 302! Truth is, I've been beatin' that bad boy since '73 and it was built to take it. I tear it down every 3-4 years to freshen it up. Soon as I get a roll bar in the L-68, it gets the same opportunity to run like it was meant to!
G'day,
I'd like to see a dual plane version for the more street oriented engines. The concept is great, though. Especially the connection of the front and rear water outlets.
I'll be looking for the magazine when it hits Australian newsagents. Probably around August. LOL
