Default One (side) Hung Low?

From the rear of my 72, there is a noticeable, lean to the left, or towards the driver's side. I am going to put it on jack stands and take a look. Any pointers? Could it be a trailing arm, or maybe a shock? If anyone else has had this problem, let me know.

I think that a lower left rear end is pretty typical stance for a 30+year old Corvette. Especially since that is the driverside plus you have the weight of the battery on that side too. It seems to exist in just about every original car I've seen. The lean sometimes goes away after an extensive suspension rebuilt.

I put a 1 inch spacer in the left rear when I replaced my rear wheel bearings. The car is now level, but if you look at the suspension as a whole I think this is only a crutch and not a fix for the real problem.
Some people have contenended that the right front spring is the problem and replacing it will cure the issue. I have to agree with smokehouse though on the reason being from left side weight. My 9 year old truck sits low on the left and the only reason that comes to mind is that I've used it as a single passenger work truck since new.

"one hung low" sounds like a name for a ruptured chinamen

What kind of condition are the shocks and springs in? That's the place to look first.

Mine leans to the left also ... and I've been thinking about removing the spring, unbanding it, reversing every other leaf end-for-end ( except for the top (shortest one )), and then rebanding and reinstalling. The thought is that if spring is sagging from 30+ years of weight, this would even out the sag

Thoughts...

Mine too. I asked Lars about it yesterday while I was there and he said it was pretty much standard fare for a 32+ year old Corvette. He also said it's not a major priority... I'm thinking about going to this suspension setup:

Front, 460 lb coil springs and new shocks.
Rear, 330 lb fiberglass spring and new shocks.

Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings (entire suspension kit)...my current bushings were installed in 1969...

I have the left side lean. I have had the car for 15 years and it didn't have a lean for about the first 7 years. I have replaced all the springs and suspension parts and it didn't make any difference. I have brought the car to a Vette only shop and they can't find any reason for the lean. I give up.

My 1981 does the same thing. But, just by accident I noticed that the rear drivers side body mount was just about gone. This might have something to do with the lean to one side. I am in the process of replacing my body mounts and am waiting for some help from the forum as to what has to be removed to lift the body. Good luck.

Mine also leans on the left. I even tried pulling the rear spring and swapping the left side to the right. (basically did a 180 degree turn on the spring. It made no difference. My body to frame measured the same on both sides. very strange  lou
