Default Rear Bumper

Will a rear bumper from an '80 fit onto a '74 without too much trouble?

It will fit around the outside edge. The light mountings and bar etc. are different.

Probably shouldn't invest in one then, huh? ;-)

It's a common conversion. Use the "search" thread in the sticky section.

I always have thought of the 80-82 rear end was to bring back the kamm style tail of the 68-72 model years. I bought my 79 and it had the 80-82 rear end on it. I think the kamm style rear end has much cleaner lines.

The '79 rear end just drooped off into nothing. Same with the '78 Firebird my buddy has. These cars really need spoilers of some sort to give them the proper attitude.
