OK, it looks like the L98 pump is too short...AND it has a larger center shaft than the hole in my pulley. This is freakin' confusing...I'm just going to see if O'Reilly has one of those "T" fittings.
I used a serp. belt system from gm, (the one you can get the complete kit from summit or anywhere else?, and the water pump is long style . you can go to any GM dealler and get one for this set up and it does have the heater hose outlet in the top .........................
OH, yeh, I have seen those with plugs in them, but never with a fitting/hose connected....mine has a 1/2 npt pipe out the pass side....directly 90* off the top fitting, which is a 3/8 NPT boss for something I forget.....I used to use it for the extra support on my old air cleaner assy box/shield off the TPI....
I remember taking B body Poncho front accessories to build many a A body Poncho....they fit....and were so much easier to work on....
so far there are about 8? SBC water pumps.....discounting the aluminum variations....
freeking stupid.....and they wonder why they are broke....
I found a truck pump that's going to work. Apparently there were two variants for the 87-94 pickups...one with the fitting and one without. All is well now.
