Quote: Nice work! Did you re-use the old pushrods?
For now yes.... they were all in good shape (and I kept them with the lifters that started with), though I will keep an eye out when i start it for geometry issues, The primary difference between the original casts and th new is that the new uses pushrod guides, while the casts had small pass through holes. I'm thinking ill be OK but well see for sure

Do some research, but I believe they wan't you to run hardened pushrods with guide plates.

, definitly. Running self aligning rocker arms would be the only reason not to use Hardened Pushrods and the guideplates.

You defently need hardened 5/16 pushrods, those brodix heads look as tight as my dart"s. i could tell by the angle on your rockers. Comp cams website has instruction for checking pushrod length, the 180 darts used stock length but you need to check before you order. Also take a flashlight and shine it up through the bottom of the head and make sure you have pushrod clearence where they go through the head, dont need much but you do need some. It"s ok if they rub on the guideplates but not on the alum head, on those rockers that look not centered on the valve make sure the pushrod is not binding in the guideplate. If they are you may need to grind the top edge of one side and the bottom edge of the other side where the pushrod goes through the guideplate to free em up.

If you have the room you can go with the .75" high square to spread bore adapter.

Scouts Out!!

there wa no binding, and the brodix head have a large gap where the pushrods go through, I learn more when i turn it over, but ill order the hrdened pushrods just to be safe...

thnaks for the heads up

You are welcome.
Happy to help a fellow Cav Trooper

I wouldn't know what to do without this forum.

That Mr. Gasket set looks to be much more complete and a WHOLE lot cheaper.

I looked into this a few weeks ago as I was researching a intake upgrade and wanted to keep the Larsified q-jet.

But now am looking at the vortex setup from SDPC.
Still haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet.
