Default Calling Desktop Dyno Operators....

I need someone to do a run on my 427 with 3 different cam profiles.

Comp Cams LS-6 Plus
239/246 @ .050 and .544/.539 lift on 112 deg LSA

Comp Cams Xtreme Energy solid
230/236 @ .050 and .553/.568 lift on 114 deg LSA

Crane F-304-2
238/248 @ .050 and .533/.567 lift on 114 deg LSA

The motor is basically a stock 427/435 so it has rect port heads (I can get you some basic flow info from the http://www.chevyhiperformance.com website), 0.030 over, stock stroke, with the factory low-rise tripower, but with Hooker Supercomp headers.

Let me know what other info you need for inputs and I'll hunt it down.

I'm very anxious to see what the torque/power curves look like.

Let me load up my laptop with Desktop Dyno 2000 and I'll get some graphs real quick. I should be able to make a good estimate.

I need your rated CFM, compression ratio, and intake/exhaust valve size. Also, I need to know what type of cam the 1st and 3rd are. I'm assuming hydraulic flat tappet.

Also, remember, DD is a little over excited in most cases...Oh, and I can run drag simulations as well... :D

Tripower intakes are rated at around 1200CFM wide open. The compression is around 9.7:1, the valve sizes are 2.19/1.88. All 3 cams are mechanical flat tappet.

I can get approximate head flow numbers is you need em

Might want to run the Factory mechanical too just for comparisons:

Stock L71:
242/242 @ .050 and .520/.520 lift on 114 deg LSA

Mike: email me at mausc@erols.com

Rainman,
When you get the numbers sorted out could you please post them here? There may be a cam change in my future & I'd sure like to see how they compare. Thanks.

Yes... The stock CR on the L71 is 10.25. I dropped it a hair when I ordered parts to offset crappy 93 octane.

I ran the numbers at 10.25:1. There's not much difference between 9.7:1 and 10.25:1. I'll double check after basketball.

69L71,
I must be missing something here. The stock CR on 1967-69 L71s is 11:1.
 What's this 10.25:1?

My mistake. You're right. I was looking in the book under 427/390. The 435c is indeed 11.0:1. I still have mine around 9.7.

Rainman: Great curves man! Thanks. Yeah, they are similar, but the shapes are a bit interesting.

Rainman, boy I hate to even ask, but I just gotta know, could you run L71's spcs with the Comp 288AR solid roller? Duration@0.050 is 246, lift is .623, on a 110LSA. I'm just wondering how much HP the solid roller is worth above 5000 rpm.

BTW, what does the software show for the Crane F304-2 with 10.85:1 CR? ( now, I;m pushing it so you dont have to check). reason I ask is that my engine is similar to L71's ex the alum heads and 11:1 CR. I know if dont do 550hp, more like 520.

Man, rainman. You just come on the board and already you're the resident Desktop Dyno genius! You should charge for your services (now that you've run mine that is). You could, at least get a couple bucks for beers!
