On my 4 speed there is some new slipping. In gear hit the pedal and the engine races some before the trans catches up. Is this the simple trans oil easy fix or is it the remove the trans, change pads or something expensive fix? Any other info needed to tell. Thanks again!!
If it's a 4 speed clutch, the disk is slipping due to maybe oil getting on the disk or the disk is worn out and need to be replaced. Either one those examples, it needs to bechanged. If it's an automatic, then the clutch pack maybe adjusted. If that's possible. If adjusted ( if it can ) and it still does it, trans needs to be rebuilt. Others will chime in and offer their suggestion.
Assuming you mean a 4-speed manual tranny, do you have any free play in the clutch (slack in the pedal before the clutch starts to disengage? If not, it may be a simple adjustment in the clutch linkage; having a bit of play in the pedal assures you that the clutch is fully engaging. If you already have free play in the pedal, it sounds like you "fried" a clutch disk. You will likely have to replace it. Make sure you buy an appropriate quality disk and pressure plate for the horsepower engine you are running. If you have upgraded the engine, but not the clutch, that could be your problem.

Make sure to check that your linkage is adjusted properly. I have found as the clutch wears you will have to change the nuts on the clutch rod to compensate for slippage. Even if your clutch is getting tired, you may be able to adjust it enough to get by for a few thousand more miles.
Could this type of issue come from revving the engine to say 6000 or so and accidentally slipping the left foot off the clutch and holding gas on to make long black marks and lots of smoke come from the tires?

I used to do that a lot in my Camaro back in the 80's. It had a 2.73 rear gear, close ratio Muncie, and a LOT of traction from the 10" wide Cragars and Formula 1 Super Stock 50 series tires. I had to wind that old 327 up to the moon to get the tires to break loose. Once they got going, they made a HUGE smoke screen. Those were the days! I got real good at changing clutches, rebuilding leaf springs and overhauling Muncies.
My clutch has been slipping a few times before on my yellow '68, usually when driving hard. I've driven over 1500 miles since it slipped the last time and had no more issues.. I hope to get some more miles out of it before I"ll need a new clutch..
