Temp sending unit
Here's the background. My temp gauge works (grounded and went full hot) but I'm trying to use a stock sending unit mounted in the aluminum intake. Not much of a ground and doesn't work worth a flip. I'm running a GMPP 350/330 crate motor with vortec heads, so my question is will a temp sender that actually fits the vortec heads work for me? My obvious concern is ohms. Anyone out there running a similar setup? If I can use a later temp unit that works fine then no problem. Thanks

You might want to search this site as this topic has been discussed before. There were a few suggestions. For me, I gave up trying to find a solution and ended up sending my temp guage to Corvette Clocks to have it calibrated to work the smaller sending unit.
you can add a ground wire to the intake. Use an internal tooth lock washer and put it on the rearmost bolt on the pass side head and connect it to the ground post on the firewall. You coule also drill out the port on the new head and retap to fit the old sender
