Hello all, i was wondering what most of you would recommend as far as headlight replacement. One of my high-beamers is out and i'm thinking that some new halogens would be sweet for all of them. Is there anything i should know, and do they make them specifically that will fit my 77? Thanks.
In my 82 CE I replaced all 4 with Sylvania halogens. I like them they are bright as hell. That's just my .02. I didn't want to upgrade to the Hella etc. bulbs :seeya
I just did this to the outer (low/hi beams) which were Sylvania halogen #5006. I think the inner (hi beams only) are Sylvania halogen #5005. As 82dukman said, they are plenty bright! You want to be careful that you don't use the higher power halogen 2 part bulbs since you will probably have to beef up the breaker and maybe even your alternator since they require more amps and didn't exist back then. :flag
Check out the Cibie SAE Standard Euro-Code headlamps on this website: http://www.talbotco.com/cibie_main_frameset.htm
I visited their booth at this years Concorso Italiano in Monterey, and they were very courteous, knowlegdeable, and had some very nice lighting. I think there are some forum members that are using these lamps. They are kinda pricey, but supposedly the quality of light is very good. Personally, I have sealed beam halogens, and although they are much better than the standard sealed beams, I'm not that happy. I plan on buying the Cibie's soon.
My high beams died recently and I replaced them with Sylvania Halogens ($6.44 each at Wal-Mart). Very pleased with them. I may even replace my working, non-halogen low beams just for the brighter light of the halogens.
I too am thinking about replacing with halogens. My experience has been that the rear of the sealed beams can be different. Sometimes, there is a nipple at the back which is required for the fiber optics and sometimes there is a rubber plug. I do not think the rubber plug type will keep the fiber optics operational. Anyone know if they make sealed beam Xenon headlights in the small circular size for our C-3's?

Me too got them from Advanced Auto for about the same price...Very bright
