After I got the correct head gaskets on my way back from the Cruise In, I finally installed the heads yesterday.
I installed the first rocker arm and noticed that the push rods from the old build are too long, so I ordered a adjustable pushrod tool to figure out the correct pushrod length.. I should have it later this week so that I can finally order the correct length pushrods.. Once I'll get them, I got about 2 more hours of work to install rocker arms and set the lash.. Then the engine will go on the dyno to be broken in and dyno tested..
Might add some pics of the current state of the engine tomorrow..
P.S. This engine is NOT going back into the car as I do have a brand new 434 sitting in the garage..

So you got new heads for the 406 and rebuilt the whole motor? This is going in the convertible?
nope, this engine is going on sale after the dyno runs...
I do have a approx. 700 HP 434 sitting in my garage, waiting to go into the race car.. The rebuilt 406 is too radical for my yellow '68 Vert as it only runs on race gas and I want to keep the yellow car on the street.. I could've gone with bigger chambers on the heads for pump gas compression, but I really wanted to get the maximum out of the old 406.. Will see how it'll do..
should get the adjustable pushrod tonight and will get the correct measurement for the new pushrods on the weekend and then get the correct pushrods...
