Brake booster ?
Does any one know the manufacture of the booster from a 79 vette.It seems they changed makes
from 76 to AC Delco, but just like to comfirm that.Thanks Neil.

Hi Xrated,
$400 for a brake booster seems a lot,when you think in the states they are around $80-90.We sure seem
to pay through the nose for are parts in Aussie.Oh well I suppose thats the price we pay for owning a vette.

The booster is still available brand new from GM. I paid $170 for the one on my '71. Before the new one I tried 4 rebuilds, that all sucked. I had one booster that would let the pedal slowly go to the floor (thought it was the MC, but it was the booster). Another one would assist the first time I hit the brakes, but if I hit them twice in succession there was no assist, etc. Weird things. The new GM booster is perfect.

It looks exactly like the old one, minus the rust and dents. :)
It is painted satin black. PN is 338906. List is $278. I got mine through gmpartsdirect.com for $166+$18 shipping. Yes I know they got me on the shipping, but it's still way cheaper than anywhere else.
