Thanks for the notice, Mark. Almost everyone knows I'm an incurrable flagwaver. I appreciate the owner's words almost as much as the paint theme on the car. Looks like they did a nice job on it. Mine will be a little less obvious (ghosted) if I ever get it done.
Some health issues have slowed my progress to a crawl, but just to help me get back in the mood, they delivered my new wheels and drag radials yesterday. Wife knows when I get the checkbook out, I must be improving! :D

Re: Calling 'Rolling Thunder' (Rolling Thunder)
Glad to see you back on the forum Dave. I was getting worried there. Sorry to hear about set back. I sometimes look at it as God's way of telling me to slow down.
Well, now that you're back....got any pics of those wheels?:D
Thanks Len. It'll be awhile before I'm up to my old tricks, and probably some vascular surgery in the near future.
I don't have the wheels or tires on the car yet, still working on the spacers. I decided that I'd done everything else the "hard way" :D , so I'd give Torq Thrust D's a try. I've heard nothing but nightmares from others on them, but what the heck, I have nightmares anyway. ;) I bought 15" x 10" for the back and 15" x 8.5" for the front. Got a set of 325/50/15 BFG drag radials. All I can say is "Those dogs are BIG!" :yesnod: Looks like they fill up the flares.
Dave - sorry to here you have not been feeling well. Take care of yourself, and get well. You know our best wishes are with you. I expect to see that bad boy at Cruise In III :yesnod:
Dave,
Glad you're feeling better! Ain't gettin old a real @#&%^? I can't believe the difference a few years can make, 8 years ago I was tip top, now I'm falling to pieces. :)
Too bad we can't get a frame off and a crate engine.
Bill, AC and Steve - Your thoughts are appreciated. Just to explain a little, I thought I was losing my mind. My thinking was not clear and everything I tried to do became difficult and frustrating. It got to where I couldn't solve problems that would have in the past been no challenge. Now don't get me wrong, I never was the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I could tell something was different. Frustration over a period of time leads to depression which further compounds the problem. Monday, during my annual checkup, the Doc discovered a blocked carotid artery and said I was stroke waiting to happen. He thought it was bad news but I was glad to hear it. At least it is something that can be fixed. :) Anyway, got a few more tests to run then get it fixed.
You're right about the getting old stuff, Steve. I would have taken much better care of myself had I known I'd live this long. :D
Glad you caught it before you did have a stroke. That way it can be dealt with and you will more than likely be back to normal in no time flat. :yesnod: Take care of yourself first, rolling thunder will be there waiting for you with an understanding glance when you get back to her.
No kidding! When do you go in for the surgery? I always thought something was wrong up there when you cut off those perfectly good quarter panels.... . All joking aside, I wish you the best :) . I EXPECT to see you (and hopefully Rolling Thunder) come May ;). Take it easy Dave.

Exactly.
Don't go pushing yourself before the surgery Dave. You don't want to go blowing any corpuslles. Infact take it easy until then. My neighbor had that performed a few years back. Now he looks healthier than me!  [
Thanks for the encouragement friends. I'll be getting some tests and meeting the surgeon Monday afternoon. I should know more then. Dalannex - I'm learning a whole new set of priorities. :yesnod: AC - You are absolutely right, it takes a crazy man to do what I've done. I just wonder if I'll still like it when I get my head back on straight? See you at CI-III. Len - I saw those pictures of you and I still say you look like a really old dude. :D j/k I do plan to take it easy till I get this thing fixed. Then look out, the digital will be busy showing off the bazaar things I dream up for RT.
Speaking of bazaar, remember those Rolling Thunder script emblems I had laser cut out of steel? Well I just got them back from the chrome shop today. They are gorgeous! (Doesn't take much to excite me. :) )

Har-har-har-dee-har-har Dave! I don't feel that old!:D
The chrome script looks good Dave. How'll you attach it to the fender? Glue?
Wife says I should get something similar with Jughead or Stooge in script.
I can't wait to see those wheels and tires! Did you settle on the "D's"?
Good luck with the appt. on Monday. As long as he doesn't reccommend a sigmoidoscopy too you should be safe!  The sooner you get it fixed the better off you'll be.
Len - Before I sent them to be chromed I brazed (4) 10-24 screws on the back of each piece. I should be able to use speed nut on them. Yep, I got the TT "D"s. Only took one out of the box so far. The back of the spokes do hit the brake caliper, but it looks like a 5/16" spacer will make it clear everything. Someone had mentioned that the lug studs would have to be changed, but I see no reason to do so.
