Default Inside door by hinges....

Ok...this is gonna be a strange question. I hope I can describe it well enough to get the answers I'm looking for. Today I started looking over my 71 and noticed an area that just didn't look right. The area above and around where the ID plate would be located, the finish is really rough. Inside front where the door meets the body. I will try to post a picture later to help describe what I'm talking about. I would think that the area in question should be a lot smoother and better looking than mine is. My concern is that maybe there is some shotty body work that I may have over looked. How is the body work finished in this area? Any pics of that area for me to compare against would be great. Sorry for the long post.

Yes...thanks for the pic. The specific area I am referring to is upper left of the tag. Your pics looks like maybe some weather stripping is there. Should there be weather stripping or somthing else there? Mine has nothing and the area surface is really rough, not finished looking.
