Measuring underhood clearance...
I have all of these wonderful and stupid ideas on how to measure the clearance at various spots under the hood. Is there an "approved method"?
I'm looking to fabricate a cold air intake for the TPI.
Thanks,
Jay

Modeling clay works well for spots like the top of the air cleaner, I've used tin foil in a loosly compressed ball also, it tends not to spring back when it's released so the dimensions are pretty accurate.

A short piece of a drinking straw on the air cleaner stud will show clearance to hood.
