Default 454 motor assembly

Hi Guys,

I'll be assembling my motor in the next week of so, depending on final parts arrival and would like your opinions on replacing the crank main bearing and connecting rod bearing bolts. This motor has not been torn down to this level before and the exisitng bolts should only have been torqued up once.

I did order a replacement set of ARP rod bolts for the stock rods but they are a different diameter then the originals and would require rework of the existing rods & caps.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks
Ian

Thanks for your input Mouse.

What are your thoughts on reusing the main bolts?

Re-using main bolts is fine. If you really want to step up got to some studs....but unless power is going to be pretty high, no need to.

I agree with previous info on rod bolts.
