Default coolant and gas issues

I've got 2 issued with my 496 BB:

1. There is a small coolant leak on one of the header bolts which appears after the engine has been running for a few minutes.

2. In a couple hundred miles after an oil change, the presence of gas in the oil becomes apparent.

Does anyone know what's going on here? The BB is a fairly high performance setup approx 630 hp. Do I need to address these soon, or should they be ok for some time, as it's just an occasional weekend toy.

Gas in the oil is probably the carb leaking into the manifold, some carbs leak from the well plugs on the bottom draining the fuel bowl into the intake manifold. Not many, but it happens. There are several threads about that in here. I don't know BB well enough to know if any header bolts go all the way into the water jacket, but thats what it sounds like. Pull the bolt and put some RTV on it.

Gas in oil could be a bad diaphram in your mechanical fuel pump letting fuel into the block.
