Well after two years of searching I found an acceptable 1981 vette. Not perfect, but good for a nearly 30 year old car. Now, my question to my St. Louis friends are/is....where is a good place to have the car worked on and serviced for those items I cannot or should not do myself. I live in the City and prefer a small shop....any ideas and thanks.
P.S. Guess I need to change name to 4 Vette Man now.
well, define jobs you should not do. I have done every job on my car by myself in my garage. the cars are very simple. Now don't confuse simple with not a pain in the ****. there are a ton of guys locally in corvette groups. i am a distant member of stlc3 sharks...i just live in tx right now. but they are def a bunch of smart guys to help you out. I would stay away from just corvettes. they are up in st. charles....big rip off, but they do have those hard to find parts.

I'm sure you will get a number a suggestions about local repair shops and I guess it all depends on what you would need done. There is a good shop in O'Fallon,Mo for general repair work run by a guy named Sig. I have had alignment work done by a friend that works at a shop in Granite City, Il and as the two prior post stated the STLC3 sharks are as good a group of guys you will ever meet. We have a few Tech Days throughout the year and gang tackle a number of problems on member cars and we just 'Get'r Done'.

If you need hard-to-find parts, talk to Gary Gruhala down in DeSoto. He won't rip you off, and is a great guy to deal with. The few times I've called Just Corvettes I haven't been impressed with their attitude.
