Power seat issues
I have an 81 corvette with driver side power seats. The car was left under a leaking car port for years with bad door seals. as a result, water leaked in and rusted all the mechanisims for the power seat. I have cleaned up and made working all the components except for what is called a "horizontal adjustment helper spring". this was completely rotted. There was enough left of it to determine size and length. Does anyone out there have any idea where it goes. the books do not show or address location of this spring.

It goes front to rear on the side where the switches are. There is a tab at the rear of the track and the front hooks to a tab up somewhere close to the motor. Took my seats out the other day and mine had rusted in two. Works ok without it.
