Default 68 and 69 grille question

I have a 68 and the previous owner installed 71 grilles. I want to put 68/69 grilles back on it. I've discovered that 68 grille support brackets are expensive and hard to find (used). I already have 68 grilles, grill trim, and parking lamps. My question is, can I use 69 grille brackets with all these 68 parts? I like the idea of fewer and less expensive 69 parts if they will fit. Thanks!

I had the same sort of problem, did not want to spend the money for all the little 68 brackets for the front grills. I used the 69 brackets with no problem. You may have to do just a little engineering but my turned out fine. No cutting just a couple of holes to drill. Hardest part was making sure the grills now in place gave clearance for the lights to go up and down. hope that helps.

Same issue here, half 68 half 69 half bubba, I liked the fit of the 69 better, they hold the blinker through the mount. Took a little time lining everything up, but it's done right. I guess GM thought the more parts the better for 68...
