Default VBP Front Mono Spring Conversion......

Wow.........better than I had expected.

Just installed this past weekend........took about 2 1/2 hours........well at least that's how long I was out grocery shopping.:o

Came home and my husband had it in. Much to my surprise really. He HATES the Vette. Says NOTHING goes as expected.

Well, I think he's changing his tune on this install. I got the car back from the alignment shop yesterday and put about 50 miles on it riding down both a stretch of hi way at speed and down some winding roads with plenty of bumpy sections.

The bottom line is ............. I LOVE IT!!!!

The car is not only much smoother, none of the bang and crash over the rough spots anymore, but also it corners even more flat than before and with better control and predictability.

Then there is the simply cosmetic. Lowering the car an 1 and one half inches also give the car a whole new aggressive looking stance.

Pictured next to the back end of my T-Bird you can see just how low it now is. New T-Birds actually slope downward from front to back so for the Vette to be lower in the front than the T-Bird is at the trunk.......we're talking........LOWWWWWW!!!!!!

I'd recommend this upgrade to anyone interested. I'm very happy with it.

Very cool, I also love the lower stance you achieved. I wish I could go out shopping and come home to see that my vette repairs / up-grades had been done by someone else, your one lucky Gal hahaha. ENJOY!!!

I just put one on a members car weekend before last, made a Huge improvement. A lot of it is due to the control arms having new urethane bushings in them, when he got to my house the old rubber ones were in there.

He gripes and complains about the problems you run into with a near 30 year old car but in the end he likes working on cars........so yeah, I guess that is a lucky break for me.

Just great..

I've been kicking around that idea for some time. Now it looks like I may have to pull the trigger. Thanks a lot.

Now is a good time.

It's on sale.

$699.95 + $39.42 shipping to the house..........might be the most dramatic change for the least amount of money out there.

It's good to hear such positive reviews on this upgrade, something I'll probably do on my C2 someday.

Now go hang some pegboard in your garage

yeah....sixfooter was kind enough to spare his time to get this installed and I am a big fan of it. We also went with the upper tubular a-arms. Yes...the car is much more responsive and lends itself to more confidence inspiring handling as I drive her very hard but treat her right giving her good care whenever she needs some TLC.

This weekend sixfooter is kind enough to again lend his help as we tackle a dual mount rear spring and Dragvette 6 link system. Should be lots more fun and then I think I am finally out of suspension mods as there ain't a whole lot left for me to do....Thank God as my wallet is saying ouch!!!

It's on the "someday" list for me. Currently I'm going to be running upgraded coils on the front and the dual-mount on the back.

I've had it on my car for 10 years. Just upgraded the rear suspension to the VBP dual mount setup. Rides great & handles even better!

Does anyone know the weight savings gained with this mod? It must be lighter than the old set up.

There isn't much weight difference from the stock setup to the VBP tubular a-arm and monospring conversion, I was supprised. We will check on the rear parts and see

Think about it a little before you go that route.

I've been there and wound up here.

We did the rear suspension a few years back with Vette Brake fiberglass and big sway bars...........it's what brought me to this.

The responsiveness and smooth handling of the upgraded rear simply wasn't in balance with the old coil spring technology in front.

After really dropping a couple of bucks on complete trailing arms last year the difference between front and back was even more noticeable.

The front was tight, all new bushings, ball joints, tie rods, springs and shocks but still just not up to the job vs the rear with the faster reacting fiberglass spring and smart struts keeping the rear wheels well planted.

Especially on rough surfaces. While the back was smooth and controlled over the bumps the front simply pounded it's way over the bumpy sections.

This latest upgrade has brought the balance I was looking for between front and back........needless to say it's light-years away from the stock set up and no way would I ever consider going back to the heavy duty coil springs again.

For now, what's done is done. I'm going to drive it for a bit, then see if I want to make changes. If I go with the front monospring, I'll do it when I make the engine/transmission swap.

Those are fiberglass leaf springs under there?

Well then I suppose I stand corrected!

More seriously though.........drive a Corvette with stock or the heavy duty coils then try this system and you'll understand why Coil Springs stock or upgraded are indeed "Old tech".

Stock they are mushy and not up to the job of real performance. Heavy duty, at 550pds like the ones we took out here, certainly do a better job in the corners but make cruising on anything less than a glass smooth road PUNISHING to the kidneys.

The Vette Brake Fiberglass spring does for the front of the car what their far more commonly seen Fiberglass spring does for the back. You get the best of both worlds. A compliant smooth ride on the less than perfect road surfaces that seem to dominate most of the USA and a heavy duty ability to carve corners too when you get a mind to push the car bit.

What's not to like? .........and yes, IMO that makes the Stock or Heavy duty Coils......"Old Tech" I'd never go back to.

Default Vbp Front System - Weight Savings

Our front TVL system comes with our ball joints and poly bushings installed. Our bushings will improve your handling as they react quicker at the pivot points as well as lasting alot longer than the stock rubber bushings that bind.

If you match the lowers with our uppers, you can increase the weight savings as well as improve the handling even more. Our upper control arms have the same poly bushings installed and come with our offset cross shafts. Along with the offset shafts, we have relocated the ball joints to allow up to 5 degrees of positive caster and a greater camber adjustment range to improve the handling and road tracking.

As far as the weight savings go, the stock control arms weigh about 15 lbs. each. Our first re-design, our box tube style, weighs 8.3 lbs. each. New for 2007, we have introduced our newest redesign, our tubular style which weighs 5.6 lbs. each with steel offset cross shafts or 4.2 lbs. with aluminum offset cross shafts. All come pre-assembled to bolt right in. They come powder coated black as standard, but for a small upcharge, you can choose red, yellow or our newest color a shiny pewter.

The front coil springs weight 20 lbs. for the pair and the fiberglass spring only weighs about 10 lbs.

With our new tubular uppers (with steel shafts) and our box tube lowers with our fiberglass spring, you can save up to 30 to 40 lbs.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss our new tubular style or have us email you a pic, please contact me directly at pattie@vbandp.com or call toll free at 1-800-237-9991.

Thanks for all the good comments and Krystal, your Corvette looks great!!!!
