Lars -- carburetor
Oh, and I picked up the '73 fuel pump with the vapor return on it to eliminate the cheap inline filter I now have. :yesnod:
Hopefully the weather will be good for a drive up there Sunday and a bit of :smash:, tuning, testing, and beer drinking. (To clarify...I mean me bringing up some beer for us to enjoy).

The '73 pump sounds like the right setup, and this should work really well for what you're doing. That will get your vapor return line hidden down below but still functional, and it will allow us to bend up a clean-looking, solid, screw-in steel fuel line with your new carb setup. That'll really clean up your engine compartment and make it look prettty darned cool (and it'll be safe and reliable as well - what a bonus!).
Sunday is supposed to be nice - perfect day for a fuel line fab. I picked up some line and fittings for you, so we're ready to go. Jeff may be over with his '66 Demon-equipped 427 for a jet change, too, so we'll make an event out of it. Just let me know if you're on or off for the work so I can plan my day out.
By the way: Jeff got into it with a 427(Ford)-powered Cobra yesterday. His Demon-equipped 427 blew the doors off the Cobra like it was standing still. Jeff tells me the Cobra owner wants me to set up the car for him now, but we don't really want a Ford running around that's tuned properly, do we...?

That would be COLD beer....! :yesnod:
Hey - it's not that far to Denver from Nebraska - stop on over..!!

These tuning and fabrication sessions at my house on the weekends are, indeed, a lot of fun. A great group of people here on the Forum, and I'm quite honored to get to meet a few of the people in person. I appreciate the trust that people show me with their cars, and the rewards I get from people simply being appreciative of the workmanship and detail is great.
You said cold beer...I can handle that. Last weekend you were drinking "Light," right? (just kidding)
Well, I'll have to bring over something tasty. I'm thinking Breckenridge Avalanche. :yesnod:

I don't eat or drink anything that has any of the following words on the container or package:
Light, Low, Free, or Non
BAD words.
Your corrected beer selection sounds like the perfect beer for doing fuel system work....
I want to move out to Colorado so that I can be part of one of Lars' Tuneup Weekends! I certainly appreciate all of his personal help and experience that is unmatched!
Y'all Colorado guys are making the rest of us envious!
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Light, Low, Free, or Non
BAD words.
Now, for the "neighbor", you better give some light beer, for, judging by the pics I saw, he clearly can't handle the real stuff, and was completely wasted.... :jester

Do you think that there would be room for one more? I would like to bring that vac sec Holley that I have over for you to take a look at. If we don't have time to get to mine thats fine I'll still bring some beer and just enjoy all the festivities.
Steve

You mean we can make it run better????!!!!!
With some luck, I'll see you Sunday. I keep this up, I'll have to be a job...

Keep on :seeya :seeya :flag

C'mon over Sunday - we'll make an event out of it. Here's the schedule:
We're going to build a steel fuel line for rainman's '69. He has a "new" (used) Holley that's going on the engine. I haven't heard if we're installing the carb or if he's dropping it on before he gets here, but it doesn't matter. It'll take about 27 minutes to build a cool fuel line, but then we need to make sure his new Holley is set up right.
Then we'd like to pop a couple of jets into Jeff's Demon. See what that thing will do if we lean it out just a tad. The thing is downright brutal right now, but I'm thinking we can make it INSANELY brutal. Is this a fun hobby, or what??! Jet changes on the Demons are supposed to be pretty simple, so we'll find out.
And we can certainly take a look at that vac sec Holley and see what we can do with it. Sounds like a great day of tuning.
Rainman -
Give me a call or drop me an e-mail so we can set up a time. I'd like to get going on the work on your car first so we can get the time-consuming installation and fabrication work done and out of the way before everyone else shows up. That'll leave all the fun tuning and tweaking stuff for last, and everyone has fun doing that.
I'm still checking my PO Box every hour or so, in hopes that there will be that little key that means I have a package...
With a little luck, I should be able to get the new fuel pump on there Saturday. I'd like to be able to do a comparison between the Holley that's currently installed and the new Street Avenger...that little accelerometer is sweet.
Numbers before and after are always good.
Then I can :smash: and , but no  until after I test drive the new setup. Then I will have a more powerful fire-breathing :reddevil monster.
Mainly its just that he likes beer.
just want to thank-you for the help you been giving me with my pinging problem. I did not try the last suggestion you made but if the weather get better here in Montréal I will attempt it .

My carburetor is somewhere out there on some mail truck or in some sort center or something (supposedly) and not in my possesion, where I need it to install it tomorrow. :cry
So...since I don't have a carburetor to put on the car, I don't need the help until next weekend. I hate having to cancel, but as I do not have the parts to install... :cry
If I figure out some way to get the carburetor in the next 12 hours or so, I'll drop a line. :yesnod:
