After many exhaustive and failed attempts to get a cool vanity plate I failed. I tried everything I wanted LIVIN, taken, in every possible way, also HOTWEEL and 10 more awesome plates before I finally scored the daddy of all plates.

When my registration comes up for renewal next year, I'm putting on a set of 1972 Texas plates I purchased a while ago. They'll happen to go on in time for my car's April '72 build date to celebrate its 30th birthday. :)
