Default camshaft help

Hello everyone I put a edelbrock crate engine 350 cid with 435 hp my question : do i need to pull out about 2500 rpm when in 1st gear because of the cam ! When I first ran the car it bogged down and I check everything and looked good so I called edelbrock tech help line and he said that if it was a automatic I would have to put a least 2500 stall in it or raiz e the rpm to 2500 ; but since i have Keisler 5 speed with a 327 fist gear and a 355 rear it's a little wild ! The cam specs are duration intake 234 deg and exhaust 238 deg cam at valve lift 1ntake is .539 and exhaust is .548 deg lobe separation is 112 deg ! Is it true I need to let out the clutch at 2500 rpms ! wow need some help ! Did take the car out and ran it at 2500 rpms ; Wild ;Wild ;Wild ; ride !

Oh boy, hopefully someone will answer you soon, but did you condition the cam? These guys will tell you something along the lines of you need to run the engine when you first start it above 2500 RPM to harden the lobes, otherwise you'll wipe them.

Hopefully someone with alot more knowledge responds to you, but please say you ran it first well above idle for at least 20 min.

With your gearing it should run fine. That is not too radical of cam at all for your gearing. Well matched combination and should scream. Sounds like a timing and or carb adjust issue to me. It will take a little more rpm to take off and be a little more sluggish at the bottom end than stock but should still be very streetable and way more than make up for that in the mid and upper RPM's
