Rear axle code info needed

I was trying to find the code on my rear end for my 69 vette and was having some trouble finding it.

I was told to look at the right front side where I did find GM stamped but its really hard to see and I was using a flashlight and a mirrior

Does anyone have a picture of the location so I can get a better idea where to look?

Axle codes are stamped on the bottom of the differential carrier housing just forward of the cover.

Yes there are numbers there but very hard to read.

Reading from left to right 0J 2??7 8 E1

Mean anything?

Fonz69, the only thing I could find was the oj which was a code for a 81 vette which is a 2.87:1 positraction with automatic or a 78 vette which was a 3.70:1 positraction
