Hot starting problem
carburetor. Car starts great when cold. Even after sitting for weeks,
depress the accelerator once to set the choke and it starts
almost immediately.
Problem: After the car is fully warmed up, let it sit for a half hour or
more and it is difficult to start. About the best way to start it then is
to leave the accelerator completely depressed until it starts. Then it
will idle so slowly that it will stall unless you keep some pressure on
the accelerator for 10 seconds or so.
If you restart it within a few minutes after turning the warm engine off
it starts fine.
What is the problem? Does the choke need to be turned to a richer
position so it provides some partial choke to the warm engine?

First, verify that the choke is, in fact, fully open when the condition occurs. If the choke is closing, you may have a problem with your choke hot air tubes or other choke adjustment problems. You can get my choke setup paper by e-mailing me:

Also, check your choke pulloff by sucking on it with a long vacuum hose. Many are ruptured and do not work right. Replace it if needed.
If all checks good on the choke system, chances are that you either have a sunk float or a leaking needle/seat that is allowing the car to flood out after shutdown. Replace the parts.
