Default Convertible door locking pins!

Let me start off by saying that the door locking pin receivers were broken since I bought the car. I just bought some ($89.00 each ). I installed them and took the car for a spin just to see if they make any difference reducing body flex. WOW - what a difference. I had this annoying rattle like the door panel was rubbing on the door opening. I tried everything to get rid of that for the past few years. The receivers really took all the door flex out and it eliminated the rattle. If you have a vert and your receivers are missing or broken they are worth every penny of the $89.00 IMHO.

It looks like there are bushings or some kind if insert inside the receiver in the picture. Mine do not have any kind of insert or bushing. They are also banged up a bit...probably missing.

Cool! Thanks for sharing. My driver's side one is fine but the passenger side on has the top broken off. Probably does very little good that way.

They have an insert (looks like brass) and between the insert and the outer shell there is a rubber bushing.

Without this above bushing setup mentioned above all I can see it doing is rattling. I know now I cannot jack my car up with the doors closed anymore. I know if I try it they will either break or the door will jam. BEWARE.

Glad I could help. At $89 each I've had these on the back burner for a long time. I wish I had gotten them sooner. Just be sure that they line up before you go slamming your door. I left the three bolts that hold them loose then closed my doors slowly to see if they would align properly. Once I had the door closed all the way and the pin engaged with the receiver I tightened the bolts. 20 minutes from start to finish.
