What will headers get me
I have heard that headers will yield .5 in 0-60 times. Maybe 2 mph in 1/4.
Is that really worth about $3-400 installed?
Shorties (better than stock) or full length.
Need air tubes.
Recommendations?

i dont know the times you quoted but i would say you will get 8-10 hp
and definatly go with long tube headers i could tell a differance on my car in power the headers depending on the name brand are gonna run around $200-$300 so your probably paying about a $100 to get installed they are really not to hard to install if you wanted to give it a try

If I've learned nothing else in 35 years of ownership, it is the instant power boost offered by properly designed headers.
Equal tube length, open headers are easily worth 10-15% on most Chevy V8s and probably more on the high output engines.

Larry,
I went with Hedman headers. no. 68301/with air tubes on my 82. Paid $269.00 for them. $200.00 for install. I would say there worth a solid 15 to 20 hp togather with my other mods. Ported intake, mild cam (204/214) etc.
