Don't take a shortcut. Use a new race. The old one isn't that difficult to get out. Although it looks OK it has received some wear from the "sloppy" bearing.
This way you won't have to wonder if you should have replaced it!

Good advice ALWAYS replace both the bearing and race. AutoZone most likely has a race installer you can "rent" for free. Use a brass drift to walk the old race out.

I agree with all of the above. It only takes about another 5-10 minutes to remove/replace the old race. Also be careful when removing the old race not to score the hub.
Never, I mean NEVER use a new bearing in an old race!
I've been in the bearing business for over 21 years. I wish I had a dollar for every person that comes in with a tapered roller bearing and no race, usually claiming the race looks O.K.. Sometimes you can talk them into the race, other's you can't.
Changing out the bearing without the race is asking for trouble.
They come apart as 2 pcs., but are considered one unit. Replace them both, you're there, it's apart, and it costs much less to do the job right the first time!
you can you,s the old race to install the new one just watch out for any nicks in the old race dont want to score or nic the hub but should drive it right in no problem.
