Today I decided since it was so cold I would do an inside job. So I took the emblems off my car so I could clean/repaint them(the black white and red parts)...the question I have is this:
For the side and front emblems, since they are not attached with screws, how are they attached...the emblems came off with little effort, in fact Im suprised they stayed on while driving. Is that correct? or should the be on there a little more firmly? I see what appears to be a black double sided take like thing on the back of the emblems, should this be more sticky? And is that what holds them?
If it is, can I use some servo tape(for R/C use), to tape them back on? or will the tape be to strong? Or just some black silicone....what do you guys suggest.
I can't comment on the suitability of servo tape or black silicone, but I can tell you that the replacement front emblem I bought from Zip was mounted with two sided tape.
It's on there nice & firmly now, versus the previous one that flew off while I was driving down the Interstate one day. Losing the emblem was bad enough, but it had to hit the back deck of the car and chip the paint on its way out :mad
i thought that they were held on with those acorn bolts (is that the name?) and they had a screw that went through the fiber glass... or am i talking about another emblem? maybe the fuel door
