So, I got my build sheet (and original sales reciept) along with other stuff when I bought my car.
It doesn't appear to have any glue residue on it anywhere and it still has all four corners. It has holes where it was stapled to something in the upper left corner, and a second set of staple marks about 2.5" down the right side. It is obviously a carbon copy, and has the number 342 handwritten and circled.
For comparison (whoever was looking for markings, etc) I have a 169 chalked underneath the rear deck behind the driver's seat (above the rear window storage).
I'll try to scan my build sheet soon and get pictures of the markings on my car.
Just kinda strange...does anyone else have a build sheet with no glue on it? I'm thinking mine may have been tucked somewhere else as it has crease marks that seem to be pretty old.
There were several build sheets in some car. I've heard of a few folks who ended up with THREE copies! They can be found on the gas tank, behind the dash, up near the AC vents behind the gague cluster, under the seat, stuffed in the frame rail etc... Yours is probably not the tank sticker but one from elsewhere in the car. You can see quite a few examples of them and locations where they were found on the '70 Registry research page here: http://corvetteforum.net/c3/1970registry/JobNo.html
BTW, please consider submitting a copy of yours and information about location / grease pencil markings etc. We're trying to figure out a relationship between VIN / build number and grease pencil markings. Thanks, ~Juliet
