Default Hey... LymanSS...

I musta missed something somewhere... I've been gone, off and on, for a few times this summer... I was thinkin' a few days ago that I hadn't seen you post in a while. Then I saw a post in the Z06 section... What's up? When didja get the new car? Are you gonna give the "old" one to your brother? Bring us (me, anyway) up-to-date, man. Maybe everybody else already knows about this... I'm always the last to snap. :D

Hey,
Good to hear from you! Yeah, I've sort of been absent from the C3 section for a little while. I got the Z06 in late august, and it's been keeping me a bit busy :) My 71 is still around, and just got back from the paint shop. It was a sort of low cost paint job, but enough to make it look 10 times better than it did before. My brother just installed the Demon carb that I bought a while ago, but we haven't gotten a chance to drive it, because we noticed that one of the bolts in the rag joint is missing. I wouldn't want to lose steering all of a sudden. I got new bolts yesterday, but didn't have a chance to put them in.
We are working on a plan for that car for the winter. Since there are a lot of vacancies in business areas around here, we are thinking of trying to find a place that we can rent, where we can work on the car during the winter. If we can get something worked out, the car will definitely be getting some suspension work, and new brakes. I haven't had a good place to work on it in a long time, so I'm really looking forward to that. I also just got a new throttle pedal (Lokar) and cables, to replace the really sketchy one that's in there now. All in all car is getting into pretty decent shape. I just wish we had a few more months before winter so I could drive it more.
Anyway, you should see more of me back here in the C3 section as the Z06 euphoria takes a back seat to my C3 enthusiasm. And of course when I start digging into the suspension on that car, I'll probably have lots to talk about :) Thanks again for the wake up call :)

Ahh... The problems of the young... "Do I drive the Shark, or do I drive the Z06?"

Great to hear from you Scott... Keep us up on what's going on.

Ha ha ha. :) I have to admit...I love asking myself that question. Although usually the answer is "the 71 ain't working, so I'd better just stay home and work on it" :) I can't wait to get going on the suspension work, so I'll have some more C3 stuff to talk about. I think I will try to photograph the whole process really well, and post it all. Hopefully it'll be usefull to someone.
