How many of you have innocently taken a turn in your corvette and ended up facing the opposite direction, not including the times you did it on purpose? :nono: My girlfriend and I took my vette out shortly after I got it and I thought I would have some fun and get a little squirrley around a turn. Unfortunatley, I was not quite accustomed to driving a 430+ hp car and ended up almost putting the car into a guardrail. It fishtailed all over the road at about 50 mph. Learning can be fun.
It happened with me shortly after I got mine, in the rain, and I almost hit a guard rail. My sister in law was with me, so I had to pretend it was intentional... :jester Lesson learned: now when I drive in the rain my foot is light as a feather... :D
I've never spun my 71 and I really hope I never do. I did spin my Z06 in a wet parking lot the other day. I was testing out active handling....man oh man...that active handling works. Spun like a top without it, and couldn't spin for the life of me when it was turned on. too bad you can't put it on a C3...I wish I could
:D I did it a couple of months ago. Scared the crap out of me and my passenger...but no damage was done.
I took a turn from one curvy two-lane (mountain) road onto another, and the rear started sliding out to the left, so I corrected for it. As I began to correct the new slide, the momentum of the car was great enough to continue bringing the tail all the way around the nose counter-clockwise. When I felt it go that way, I spun the wheels one more time, pointing them in just the right direction so that when the passenger side front wheel climbed the curb it was climbing in the direction of the tread.
From the guy who was driving behind me, "WOW! That was [expletetive deleted] awesome." So I told him I meant to do it. :yesnod:  :reddevil
