Power Steering failed
Well, driving the Corvette around VA Beach when the steering got stiff and the pump started squealing. Lots of PS fluid under the car.
We tried adding fluid but it just started leaking so I removed the belt and am driving a manual steering car.
Looks like the return hose is leaking which makes no sense. I am hoping that the reservoir is not cracked.
Anyway, I am heading back to RI tomorrow to finish my move. I have some tools here but no jack or stands. So the car will just set until I get back.
I was thinking about a Type II PS pump conversion. Has anyone done this with a V-belt setup?

This pump is six years old. Not sure why the return line would blow but that is the one covered in fluid. The pressure line is fine. The only other possible problem is a cracked reservoir.
