When I see "rated to 700+" I read "we don't want to tell your the truth, because you wouldn't consider buying it if we did, but by saying "to" we haven't exactly lied about it, technically, so when you find us out you won't have any recourse, and we keep your money."
My weed whacker is rated "to" 700+ HP, too. Your results may vary.
Pro top line heads were made in New Zealand but I think the company has since gone belly up! Bloody shame.
Actually, Pro Topline was bought by RHS.. They still sell the same heads.. Now they are just called RHS Pro Action Heads and they used to be Pro Topline Pro Action..
Seems to be plenty of interest in this motor judging from the number of bids and the price it is at. Are you sure this is BS Olivier???
The price is right.. even with 550 HP, less than $5k seems like a good deal for the engine..
I'm sure that the engine makes some power but not anywhere close to 700 HP.. It's physically impossible to make 700 with that cam and only 300 cfm intake flow... 320 cfm/230 cfm is the minimum needed for 700 HP.. I highly doubt that the chinese casts even flow 300 cfm..

THE ROTATING ASSEMBLY ALONE IS VALUED AT OVER $2500
The rods sell for $180, must be gold plated.
IM with Olivier on the HP very unlikely over 550 HP
Their 383 motors are $8K, wonder why so cheap.
my $.002 cents worth.
Ditto with Olivier.
Less than 11:1 compression, plus on their by it now 383s sell for $8K and this 460 will sell for little over $4k, must be top quality parts.
The rods sell for $180 a set wow top price.
My 434 was close to $10K and I built it.
I wrote and asked about the manufacture of the block nothing back yet.
Tried a Google search on them no luck, must be for ebay only.
Why don't they dyno all the motor's ?
My 851 1/2 hp alcohol weed wacker would give this 460 a run for the $$$$
My 434 ended up about $13k or so... but I had it built...
I'd assume that the 460 on Ebay has 90% chinese parts in it.. Probably a Eagle rotating assembly, chinese Pro Comp heads and chinese professional products intake.. Those parts aren't really all that bad.. I've been running Eagle stuff for years..

I'm with Olivier on Eagle. Their stuff seems to be top notch, and I had no problem deciding on their forged crank and H-beam rods for my 496 project. They're located just a few minutes from me, and I believe they do all the work here except for casting and forging, which is done to their specs.
I was glad to see Comp Perf. Group (also nearby) bring back the RHS name when they bought Pro Topline. That used to be their full service speed shop, until they got out of the market a few years ago.
What block, bore and stroke are they using to get 460 ci in a sbc? Thought 440 ci was the max for a standard deck Little M block? At that price, no way they have an aftermarket block. Or is this a BBC?

Eagle cranks are good if you don't have to cut them too much.. They are only good to be cut once.. When I had my 406 rebuilt a while ago, the crank was machined and it started flexing and would mess up the bearings again after 1 run

I think that it can be done with a standard block, bored out to 4.185 (.060 over) and a 4.185?? inch crank?? (they say custom crank)
It could be done with a lot of clearancing and a small base circle cam..
However, they would have to use 5.7 rods which would make it less than ideal..
The only way to make a 460 cubic inch setup work right would be with a Dart Iron Eagle tall deck block with raised cam (that's what I use) but the block alone is $2600

....i wouldnt under evaluate 'chinese' parts and even full race engines (in the future), those europeans (and i'd bet also plenty of americans) who used to laugh about chinese quality processing are all belly up for the fatal error of under evaluate them as solid competitors...
...a 'race' engine for less then 4.050 usd??????????????????????????
the only thing i see on the pic is a one side unclear pic that actually could be a painted board carton with nothing in the back

no doubt about that.. Some of their products can easily compete with their competitors, especially due to their low price.. Eagle cranks are probably the most commonly used 4340 cranks. They are USUALLY good pieces.. I'd still take a Callies Magnum XL over a Eagle crank.. but they are over 3 times more expensive... I've never heared anybody have issues with Eagle H-beam rods.. I've used them for several years without a single issue..
