Does anyone know if the 700R4 I have sitting under the car on a jack stand will fit in a 350 without changing the flywheel. The reason I ask is that I noticed that the input shaft on the 700 is longer than on the 350 I took out. Does this matter??
700R4 requires its own torque converter. It will fit the TH350 flywheel. You will need to shorten the driveshaft but can use the TH350 driveshaft 'snout' with the 700R4. Also, different x-member required or heavy mods to yours.
is the one in your garage a pre-89? The ones from the mid to late 80's are weak in comparison to the newer ones, but would hold up just fine under stock or slightly more horsepower and torque...whew thats a long run on sentance
