Dust Cap Dilemma
Hey guys, I've got what probably is a stupid one. I just finished the driver side front suspension, VBP poly kit, 1/2" wheel studs, new rotor, caliper, etc. A friend who owned this car before me (I traded a Harley for it, I actually owned this car several years ago and am glad to have it back) got the hub off of Ebay. Everything went fairly well until trying to pop the dust cover onto the hub. Seemed small, turned out to be impossible. Tried putting it on the pass. side hub, went on easy. It's not much of a difference but it is obvious that the hub diameter for the cap is smaller. Was there ever any difference in this diameter on any of the C3 years? It's not a big enough difference, like 1/4 inch or anything, just enough that I can't get the cap on
. I figure I can have the ID opened up with a lathe, but I really don't want to take the thing apart again and remove the bearings, etc. Any insight would help.
