I am pretty sure that I want a ceramic or thermal coated header but what brand do you suggest? Why are Hooker Headers so much more than the rest?

I just bought a set of Dynomax ceramics from Summit, going to follow with dynomax mufflers as well.
The headers were about $210.
Going to have to get them welded, as no bolt ons are available as far as I know.
Heard good things about them.
Hope this helps...............Blademaker

I've got the Hooker catalog and their products really do look nice. I think I may be going with a set of their competition headers this winter. I've also looked into Doug Thorley headers, which I think are nice also but they only come in chrome (no ceramic coating). The Thorley's are made of 14 gauge steel instead of the 16 and 18 gauge that is typical. The Hooker competition models are 16 gauge and their super competion models are 18 guage. I may be wrong on this but I think the thicker pipes (14 gauge) will be better at sound control and also last longer. Please correct me anyone if I'm wrong here, I could use the education also. :seeya

I bought my Hookers from Summit Racing, 800-230-3030, I had they coated at a local shop in my area.
