Im trying to install this new dist. small cap and I have two questions.
1 Which way do the two connectors face?
2 I have wires to switch it over, How do I tie in the tach wire and 12v ing.? Do I still use the tach filter?

They can face anywhere you want them to. Usually positioned in the general direction of your coil and also to allow all the plug wires to reach. I assume you are talking about the GM small cap HEI distributor and the two connector (black and gray) coil. Be sure you have the rotor pointing to the 1# cylinder plug wire connector on the cap when you are at TDC with the #1 cylinder in compression. Then position the rest of the plug wires CW around the cap in the appropriate firing order.
Connect the tach to the white wire on the gray coil connector. Yes, use the tach filter if you have one, although I have gotten away without one in the past.
