This module threads into the back of the intake. It is not part of the water passage. The top of the module goes to the trans and I think allows shifting. The other port on the module goes to another vacuum line.
The catalogs do not show the module as a 77. I need one that has the top tube so I don't have to rebend my tube going to the trans.
Thanks if anyone can help me locate one like this.
Thats just a T fitting. You should be able to get them at most any auto parts place. Its just a connection point for manifold vacuum for the VAc modulator on the tranny (thats where the steel Line goes) and other vac accesories.
I would think a vacuum fitting would not screw into a water passage.
If it's an emissions device that only operates (allows or prevents vacuum) when the engine reaches a certain temp it could very well thread into the water jacket, it then would in fact be a type of modulating device. In this case it's just a vacuum fitting providing multiple ports, good question though.

Thanks for the reply and link. I was hoping to find one that is exactly like the one I have (except not broken)....mine has a port on top and one on the side. I'll see about another replacement but I was hoping not to have to rebend my tube that goes to the trans.
Buy a cheap 2 port screw-in and then connect the steel transmission line to one of the ports with a short rubber hose --- no need to bend any steel line or pay $20 for a $3 item

I think that is exactly what I will do. Heading to Autozone, NAPA and O'Reileys this weekend to see who has the closest one.
20 bucks is a lot for a small part....reminds me of Harley parts.
