turn signal connection/need help

Default turn signal connection/need help

I have a new turn signal switch and i need to install it in my 68 vette. I have a manual and it says on removal to cut the wiring at the connector and pull out the wiring from the column. And on reinstalling it to remove each wire from the connector and then reinstall the wiring in the connector and make up the two connectors. My manual show a special tool from GM to remove the wires from the connector but i do not have one. So how do you remove the wires without damaging the wires? Do i need to fine one of these tools or what are my options? I do not want to damage any of the wire fittings on removal or on installation of the wires.

all help appreciates.

Use an opened paper clip or a very small tipped flat blade screwdriver to close the retaining tang. Open the tang prior to re-insertion.

Thanks, i tried one wire and it is somewhat of a "pia" to remove the wire without doing damage to the wire connector. Sound like you have done this before.
